The numbers are assumptions and NOT facts. Most of these numbers have actually been pulled from other places or based on some rationale (for example 750,000 from Matthew Oh site, 5 minutes/EAD based on what need to be done to print out a card and pack in an envelop)
Workforce of 30 though is a gross assumption. Bigger the number better it is. So we may actually want to question USCIS if there are any resource constraints.

What about bringing on H1B fresh graduates as Visa Processing Experts with a two days of Boot Camp Training? Anyway, we are forgetting that USCIS processed 25000 applications in 2 days. Please do not undermine efficiency we have seen in last days -- with that rate, I expect everything to get cleared in few weeks. If improved productivity is maintained/sustained to this level, I do not see any chance for outsourcing or bring H1B guys to this country. Best luck America!

Petetion for an employment based visa = I 140 , that were filed prior to the date of intro ( for our sake its Oct 2008 or May 15 2007 ) that were pending or approved , shall be treated as if such provision remained effective.
An approved petition may server as basis for issuance of an immigrant visa.
and for all people who are still in Labor stage will preserve their priority date.
Now based on this , if you have filed an I140 before the date of enactment what ever it might one should be fine. Once dates becomes current and I140 approved one can file for 485 in previous system.
I dont see any conclusion based on 485 is approved or not its just adjustment of status once PD become current , i think its all 140 that determines you are approved as an immigrant or not.

According to the State Department, from October 1, 2006 through May 30, 2007, the USCIS requested and was authorized the total EB visa numbers of 66,426. Between June 1 and the first few days of July (?), the USCIS requested and was authorized over 60,000 EB visa numbers, in approximately one month. Since it has been made clear by the USCIS that during the last weekend of June (2 days) the USCIS approved 25,000 EB 485 applications, apparently over 40,000 visa numbers were requested and authorized before the weekend. Obviously the 60,000 plus cases must thus have been approved (?) in one month

There is no official process or filing fee. Attorneys generally represent both the employer and the employee. Because revoking the petition could harm the employee, a conflict of interest arises. Accordingly, most immigration attorneys would not want to be involved in assisting in the revocation of petitions.
Do you mean to say, the employer just sends a letter with a signature and LIN numbers to revoke and USCIS revokes them?
In that case does USCIS send a confirmation of revocation of all the requested LIN numbers to be revoked? Or it is just a one-sided handshake?

One more question. In how many days after entering US (California) in H1B status, should I apply for US DL? The only defined preiod I found on DMV site, is 10 days. But how can I proof my address of residence in US after only 10 days?

i think AC21 is a law passed by congress. So no matter how it is but it has to be followed by USCIS.
Now a days USCIS staff doen't have correct knowledge about AC21 so with out understanding they are rejecting.
Initially I got my H1 extension only for 1 year even though my 140 is approved and 485 filed. Then i fought to USCIS and showed the pdf doc from AC21 which states that they have to issues 3yrs extension.
Then they issued for 3yrs.
It is all lack of knowledge abt AC21.
Now a days USCIS staff doen't have correct knowledge about AC21 so with out understanding they are rejecting.

That is a wonderful proposal and should be given due weight. Despite the early arrival, an individual may not filed his/her GC due to several reasons. Most commonly found / heard are
1. Company closures/ Layoffs / Transfer to different state
2. Employer / attorney delay and / or fraud in filing GC
3. Delays in processing Labor in certain states / backlog centers
This proposal seems a ray of hope for people in the above category. God bless Rajeev74 and all. Let this be heard and got attention at the policy level.

Given that, median income in US is 50 times more than India. I thought the Indian cities are up in bubble. Next, look at agricultural land prices.
Agricultural land in Northern part of India is average $50000 - $250,000 per acre (www. 99acres.com) where in east, west and south is about $20000-$200,000. In Villages its about $15000 to $50000 per acre.
Agricultural land in US is in the range of $6000-$15000 per acre. ($12,000 per acre in NJ, $6,000 per acre in California and $8,000 per acre in Florida. From USDA website)
Now You can do the math. Commercial land is even more expensive in india.
The reason, people say, population density. Now lets look at this factor, the density in India is much higher than USA. But, compare to NJ, NJ is actually slightly more densely populated than most states in India. Real estate is regulated by government in India that prevents easy buying and selling and land survey records are not properly maintained which makes it easy to bump up the price.

Most of the June/July/Aug'07 fiasco filers H4's might have received EAD's and thus SSN#...so when 2007 filing tax returns (married filing jointly) will have their SSN# listed could be eligilble.. isn't it??

My point - I am going to take things in a stride, basically wait till I can - doesn't hurt me as long as I go about my daily routine.
All who are thinking of jumping the fence and giving up, one piece of advice - if you do not have kids and plan to have any in this life, please do it NOW - have them be born here (all of them) and then move on with whatever / wherever you want to go.
At least this is a gift you will be giving your kids for their lifetime and all the generations following them (remember - a US citizen's kid can be a US citizen no matter where he/she is born) - so you will be arranging US citizenship for all your great^n * grand * kids (0 <= n <= infinity) !
This is how I think about it when I do not think about MYSELF. Once the kids are born, you can flaunt their American Passports and feel happy in their well-being and security (for whatever it is worth) and move on to Canada / India / Singapore / wherever! Live happily.
And do not forget your kids can sponsor you when they are 21.

My wife's DL renewal is pending for more than 2 months...When we contacted DMV they said its pending clearance from DHS (homeland security) and it could take take 120+ days to get their approval.
Has anybody encountered this recently?

You can ask for a temporary license good for 90 days and re-apply again until you get the DMV card renewal.
